{"id":40,"date":"2006-05-04T02:11:28","date_gmt":"2006-05-04T02:11:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ebizz.wordpress.com\/2006\/05\/04\/how-to-become-a-successful-blogger\/"},"modified":"2006-05-04T02:11:28","modified_gmt":"2006-05-04T02:11:28","slug":"how-to-become-a-successful-blogger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chris-salazar.com\/blog\/how-to-become-a-successful-blogger\/","title":{"rendered":"How To Become A Successful Blogger"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I recently wrote about <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/ebizz.wordpress.com\/2006\/03\/14\/how-to-become-a-successful-intern\/\">how to become a successful intern<\/a>, since I am&nbsp;an <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.inroads.org\">INROADS<\/a> intern, but <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/sleepyblogger.com\/\">Robyn Tippins<\/a>&nbsp;thought it would be a good idea to write about being a successful blogger.<\/p>\n<p>I will give this my best shot, but these are characteristics that I currently working towards since they seem to be prominent in most successful bloggers.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong><\/p>\n<h2 align=\"center\">How To Become A Successful Blogger<\/h2>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u><strong>Think PASSION,&nbsp;not numbers<\/strong><\/u>\n<ul>\n<li>&nbsp;Some bloggers start off or eventually participate in the popularity\/number contest&#8211;AKA your <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.technorati.com\">technorati <\/a>rank<\/li>\n<li>Numbers and Ranks are a distraction, instead write about your passion<\/li>\n<li>Blogs written with passion are much more powerful, resourceful, and interesting&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><u><strong>Join the CONVERSATION<\/strong><\/u>\n<ul>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/redcouch.typepad.com\">Shel Israel, author of Naked Conversations<\/a>, said we should join the conversation by listening FIRST&#8211;excellent advice!<\/li>\n<li>Listen to what others have to say, start writing your own thoughts, comment on other blogs, and invite them to talk with you<\/li>\n<li>Be a good listener and a good contributor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><u><strong>Exhibit THOUGHT LEADERSHIP<\/strong><\/u>\n<ul>\n<li>Keep your posts unique and resourceful<\/li>\n<li>Add value to what has already been said and introduce new ideas and questions<\/li>\n<li>Make your posts thought provoking, not just a summary of what&#39;s going on<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong><u>Create TRUST<\/u><\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/redcouch.typepad.com\">Shel Israel <\/a>said blogging should be like:\n<ul>\n<li>&quot;Two neighbors leaning on a fence talking about their interests&quot;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Create trust by creating an&nbsp;informal and open global conversation<\/li>\n<li>Invite others to agree and disagree with you<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong><u>Enable comments<\/u><\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Comments are an important feature of blogs, enable them and help keep the conversation going<\/li>\n<li>Positive and negative feedback are both good, don&#39;t worry<\/li>\n<li>The best thoughts, perhaps some you did not think of, come from comments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong><u>Become the starting and ending point&nbsp;for all conversations<\/u><\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>You want&nbsp;the conversation to start&nbsp;and end&nbsp;with you<\/li>\n<li>First,&nbsp;keep up to date with&nbsp;global trends, news, and innovations and provide your honest opinions<\/li>\n<li>Be enthusiastic and raise&nbsp;eyebrows<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong><u>Network with other bloggers<\/u><\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Build relationships, do not just sit back and hope things will happen<\/li>\n<li>Venture out in the blogosphere, meet new people, and build friendships<\/li>\n<li>Commend bloggers for a job well done and help them become thought leaders as well<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is an on-going list that I will continue to update with YOUR COMMENTS!&nbsp; I would really like your feedback for making this list <em><u>the resource for all bloggers<\/u>!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><strong><\/p>\n<h2>YOUR COMMENTS ARE NEEDED!<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp; \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I recently wrote about how to become a successful intern, since I am&nbsp;an INROADS intern, but Robyn Tippins&nbsp;thought it would be a good idea to write about being a successful blogger.
