{"id":45,"date":"2006-05-08T23:23:34","date_gmt":"2006-05-08T23:23:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ebizz.wordpress.com\/2006\/05\/08\/should-your-boss-ban-you-from-blogging\/"},"modified":"2006-05-08T23:23:34","modified_gmt":"2006-05-08T23:23:34","slug":"should-your-boss-ban-you-from-blogging","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chris-salazar.com\/blog\/should-your-boss-ban-you-from-blogging\/","title":{"rendered":"Should your boss ban you from blogging?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"409\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/radio.weblogs.com\/0121664\/images\/2004\/06\/03\/new_yorker.jpg?resize=409%2C326\" height=\"326\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Blogging has opened up another world for us and it is expected that some people will try to put provisions on blogging.&nbsp; <u>Yet, how much is too much?<\/u><\/p>\n<p>In a recent article from <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/newsitems\/200605\/s1630054.htm\">ABC NEWS<\/a>, there seems to be some laws that could prevent us from blogging.&nbsp; Even if we do not talk about our companies, some still want to make sure that we do not blog even in our private homes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>However, is this fair?&nbsp; From my point of view, I do not think so since I never mention my employer&#8211;why would I?&nbsp; I use blogging to express my interests in other areas not related to my employer.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here are some of the reasons why I feel your boss&nbsp;<u><em>SHOULD NOT<\/em><\/u> ban you from blogging:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increases our network<\/li>\n<li>Keeps us engaged with the corporate world<\/li>\n<li>Enhances our ability to criticaly analyze situations<\/li>\n<li>Serves as a &quot;therapy&quot; for some since <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/ebizz.wordpress.com\/2006\/04\/24\/guy-kawasaki-is-wrongyes-i-said-it\/\"><strong>blogs are like diaries<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Rebecca Blood has more to say about <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/ebizz.wordpress.com\/2006\/05\/04\/rebecca-blood-asks-why-a-weblog\/\"><strong>why you should blog<\/strong> <\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Although I do not agree with being banned from blogging, I do believe that a blogger should not disclose confidential information about their company and\/or position with an employer.<\/p>\n<p>But, how many of us do that?&nbsp; In fact, I suspect that many of us blog about things we are passionate about and want to connect with others who share the same passion.&nbsp; This is what makes a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/ebizz.wordpress.com\/2006\/05\/04\/how-to-become-a-successful-blogger\"><strong>successful blogger<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Am I right?&nbsp; Should bloggers be governed?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Blogging has opened up another world for us and it is expected that some people will try to put provisions on blogging.&nbsp; Yet, how much is too much?
